YouHaveDownloaded è un sito russo che non solo fotografa l'intero traffico BitTorrent ma memorizza tutti i download dei singoli indirizzi IP. Insomma, basta una visita per spazzare via in un attimo privacy e anonimato: un click sul proprio indirizzo IP o quello conosciuto di un amico o collega e si può accedere all'elenco completo dei file scaricati, data e dimensione. Senza contare l'identificazione della città specifica dov'è residente l'utente.

Al momento i gestori di YouHaveDownloaded sostengono di aver registrato il 20% del traffico mondiale BitTorrent e che il loro database contiene già i dati riguardanti 51 milioni di utenti, 100mila torrent e più di 2 milioni di file per un totale di 97 TB.

Il database ovviamente cresce giorno dopo giorno così come le sue potenzialità di ricerca file. Si tratta di una sorta di finestra voyeuristica sul mondo Torrent, con tutte le spiacevoli conseguenze del caso. Insomma, ogni segreto viene svelato e sono ovviamente più a rischio coloro che dispongono di IP statico. Nessun problema invece per chi si affida a proxy, VPN, IP dinamico o utilizza precauzioni software.

"Vogliamo solo ricordare alle persone che Internet non è un posto dove aspettarsi privacy. Oggigiorno molte persone vi accedono senza comprendere quali informazioni lasciano dietro. Anche quelle che sanno come funziona scelgono di ignorare la questione piuttosto spesso", ha spiegato il co-fondatore Suren Ter.

Le intenzioni del sito non sembrano essere cattive poiché, come ha sottolineato il team, ogni informazione pubblicata è già pubblicamente disponibile. In fondo hanno solo aggregato i dati e se lo si desidera si può richiedere la rimozione del proprio indirizzo IP dal database.

YouHaveDownloaded comunque non è un esercizio di stile ma uno strumento intelligente per aprire la strada un nuovo protocollo file-sharing apparentemente più sicuro. "L'idea generale è simile a quella di Bitcoin. La chiave è di avere un'identità anonima e affidabile per ogni peer, e una firma algoritmica stile Bitcoin aiuterà", ha aggiunto Suren Ter.

In ogni caso YouHaveDownloaded sembra essere perfetto per valorizzare la vulnerabilità Skype di cui abbiamo parlato qualche giorno fa

ora ho ip dinamico, ma ho messo il mio vecchio ip fisso che usavo fino a 4 mesi fa, con cui ho tirato giù il mondo, e mi dice pulito.

@supercoso: perché dovrebbe essere illegale? quando scarichi un torrent puoi vedere gli ip dei seed e dei leech in chiaro eh.

si vabè, cmq è fare un database di informazioni senza l'esplicito consenso dell'interessato o forze dell'ordine.

Se vado in giro e fotografo tutte le targhe che vedo e le metto on line, non faccio una bella cosa

Casa Sarkozy scarica musica e film pirata: beccati!

Grazie a alla piattaforma YouHaveDownloaded si è scoperto che dal Palais de l'Élysée, il palazzo presidenziale di Sarkozy, sono stati scaricati file pirata. A inizio settimana sono state pinzate anche le sedi di Sony Pictures Entertainment, Fox Entertainment e NBC Universal.


A casa Sarkozy si scarica musica e film pirata a manetta. Ieri Nicolas Perrier della testata Nikopik ha scoperto tramite YouHaveDownloaded, la piattaforma che svela i file Torret scaricati dai singoli indirizzi IP, che al Palais de l'Élysée (62.160.71.0 – 62.160.71.255) si fa festa. La lista dei file scaricati indica una copia cam di "Tower Heist" (Colpo ad alto livello", une versione telesync di "Arthur Christmas" (Il figlio di Babbo Natale) e il Greatest Hits 20 Good Vibration dei Beach Boys in formato FLAC.

Che scarico per stasera?

Complessivamente si tratta di 6 download illegali, considerato il numero di file complessivo, e quindi l'utenza presidenziale avrebbe violato per ben due volte la normativa vigente HADOPI. Quella che stacca la spina dopo tre richiami.

Grasse risate in tutta la Francia, soprattutto considerando che il paladino dell'anti-pirateria europea non riesce a far rispettare le regole neanche in casa. Chissà poi cosa penseranno quei 60 abbonati mangialumache, accusati di pirateria, che a ottobre sono inciampati nel terzo richiamo formale.



Ovviamente Sarkò dirà che è colpa dello staff e che non si possono tenere sotto controllo così tante postazioni. Però detta tutta chi avrebbe mai potuto resistere alle velocità dell'ADSL presidenziale?

Povero Nicolas. La buona notizia però è che non è il solo a dover vestire il costume da pollastro – e svestire quelli da galletto. Proprio a inizio settimana si è scoperto che dalle sedi di Sony Pictures Entertainment, Fox Entertainment e NBC Universal c'è un gran bel traffico P2P pirata. Anche dai loro indirizzi IP sono passati musica e film pirata.



Tutto questo ovviamente non è per fare allarmismo bensì per ribadire il concetto che un indirizzo IP non è una persona: si tratta di un indirizzo che può essere condiviso fra più individui. E in effetti, soprattutto quando si parla di grandi società o istituzioni, può esserci chiunque dietro una tastiera.

Certo che se Nicolas e Carla fossero stati beccati a scaricare pornini sarebbe stato ancora più divertente. Sarà per la prossima volta.
